I heart DC?

Yay! We're here! We're here! We have officially been in Washington DC for 2 days. I'll try and list the positives before I list the negatives. First off: Its sooo GREEN compared to California! The buildings are amazing. They are seeping with American History and knowing me, I am kind of a geek when it comes to US history. The food is really tasty. I mean yea, we are still in the states, but I dunno, the food just has like a 'clean crisp' taste. haha! AND its SUPER clean! I am pretty iffy when it comes to germs, but man they basically wipe down the street pavements here everyday. Things are for the most part inexpensive. All the museums are free (paid by our tax dollars of course haha), the metro is super cheap too ($9 all day and it goes pretty much everywhere in DC and surrounding cities) its also SUPER fun to be on. You literally have to leap in or the metro WILL leave you. It's going about 90 miles an hour and is jam packed with people. We have to stand everytime we get in because there is no place to sit, and hold on or you will fly across once it starts to speed. Its also neat because it is dark and underground! Looks like the perfect environment for a zombie movie to be filmed :). We look like SUCH newbies too all lost and confused haha. Everyone is moving so quickly and know their metro transfers and routines so well. I liked the fast pace of everything here.

As far as the negatives go, I really only have a bit. THE HEAT. I don't think I have ever been so hot in my life. I feel like I am actually sweating as I shower!!! I don't even bother straightening my hair, it gets crazy frizzy the second I step outside the hotel. I look all cute when I get ready to go and the second I step outdoors, I look like I walked into a tropical rain forest, drenched in sweat, nasty hair, and smelly! It's not the dry 'valley' heat like California. It's the sticky, humid heat! I don't know how else to describe it :/ kind of makes it difficult to enjoy the vacation when it is so hot. Note to self: no trips to DC in July. There was actually a heat wave hurricane warning in all DC area! Lets see what other negatives? Oh, people are not very nice. I don't know if its because of the fast-pace lifestyle or what, but people are pretty rude and blunt. Not that California is infested with heart warming, hug-able beings, but I think for the most part people are polite and helpful when you need it. Those are all the negatives I can really think of!

We are headed to the White House, Lincoln Memorial, the Ford Theater and some other cool places tomorrow!! We have been taking a hop-on hop-off tour bus! We sit on the top and I must say, I am getting a pretty sweeeet tan! I have a not-so-cute sock tan though haha! I'll take pics and try to upload them and make a new blog post tomorrow :)
