and here I am procrastinating my time away...
I wish we knew how to function and use the other 90% of our brains. I have a feeling we would be a lot smarter and wouldnt need to study hehe. :)
So the end of April is before us and I could not be more excited for what is to come. I start internship in September and am so excited! I submitted my application to work at East Valley Medical Health Center. I would be working with HIV patients and patients who have special needs. I finally get to put my foot in the door and see my hard studies pay off. I have never been so eager to go out in the field and help. The more time I spend in class learning about all the disadvantaged populations, the more I itch to go out there and do something about it. People still tell me to steer away from doing Social Work. They always stress the importance of being wealthy and picking a career path that will financially reward me, but what difference does it make how much I make? Do I get to take all that money with me when I pass away? No. I don't mind at all living within my means. I don't need money I just need my doggy, my pumpkin, my family and friends. Its about what you do with yourself and the people around you, not how much you pocket at the end of each year.
I get so emotional lately. Even in mass sometimes I hear the priest say something powerful and I feel my eyes get watery and a lump in my throat. It makes me sad to think I strive so hard to be that helpful selfless person but i feel myself drift farther and farther from the person who inspired me to want to be this selfless person. Im not on the spiritual high I used to be on. Im looking into going to a retreat on my own. Its called Caritas and its 4 days just a little pricey but It looks amazing and I think a retreat is exactly what I need to get spiritually inspired again. I need a re-boot.
My captains at church nominated me to become the Eucharistic Minister Leader for OLA. Im not sure what exactly that duty entails but I think that's awesome they thought of me for that position. I know there's 8 Leaders in the church not including the priest and I guess they meet weekly to discuss ummm... special leadership stuff? haha! no i have no idea what they do or talk about but still cool nonetheless!
Hmm what else can I update you on...my nephews are getting big :) theyre so cute. My sister Jessica's baby Xavier is nicknamed Hawaiian Bread cause hes so fluffy :). Sams nickname is Pocoyo which is a cartoon baby in a spanish show. He looks just like the cartoon! What else...Im starting my butt-lift videos again! for reals this time! I told myself id start monday...but we know how that goes haha! no but really im gonna start it!
I also started my little etsy vintage shop The Antiques Attic. Its kinda cool we go to estate sales on the weekend and i look for cool retro decor or accessories and then research about them online and try to sell all the items cheaper then what most etsy shops with the same items sell theres for. Its just to get a little extra $ to help pay my car loan and for my jeep accessories piggy bank :) My honeybun is buying me off roading lights! Its gonna be our end-of-the-world / zombie-apocalypse outbreak unit vehicle! This jeep is basically how I want mine to look one day! The only thing I'd like that this one does not have are the lights by the rear view mirrors :). But other than that, this exact one!
