(My I love APU tee I got at Orientation this weekend :] and can I just point out the length my hair has grown?! heck yes!. What do you think? Im so tired of it black!! need a change!)
So Tuesday was my first day at APU! Iv been wanting to go to Azusa Pacific since I was in High School. It was like my dream school! Christian? Private? and one of the best schools to get my BSW in social work!? Sounds like the right fit!
So im not going to lie. I was sooo nervous. The school is separated into 2 campuses. All the buildings have strange names and inside the buildings is like a total maze! I got lost probably 500 times :) but it was nice to see how pretty the campus is and how much improvement and remodeling they have done! I was surprised at the lack of ethnic diversity though. I would say the population is about 95% Caucasian :(. I miss the diversity mt.sac had! I was the only mexican in my first social work class and no one sat next to me! ha ha ha! Theyre all girls in that class too! They all have their own little clicks since the majority live on campus and since I have started halfway through the school year, it seems like everyone already knows each other.
But I must confess, I loved it. The staff is sooo sweet. We prayed before class! What college class have you gone to that does that?! It was awesome. My Social Work teacher was so lovely. I got to class early and was the only one there, she sat in the desk next to me and just chatted about me getting my BSW, and it being my first day. She said she wanted me to meet her at her office to do a 'map' of what classes to take for every semester in order to get my BSW faster. She was just amazing. Tomorrow i am going to try and add two other classes: Family Violence, and Development of exceptional children. (both classes for social work) dont those sound interesting!? She said about 3-4 years left though to get my masters which is kind of a killer (seems like forever!) but Ill actually only be about 25 years old which is still pretty young id like to think ;)
Anywhoo there's my ramble on my first day. I feel so excited and motivated for the future! I feel like I sound like rainbows are shooting out of my butt hahaha! but really I am soooo happy things could not be going better in every aspect of my life :)
